A Girl's Stumble to Words

    • Tuesdays, 1:00pm2:00pm

“A Girl's Stumble to Words" focuses on music motivated by various words, or terms that attempt to capture complex, elusive sentiments and experiences of life that ground even the most overzealous poets. Each session hones in on a particular word, whether the word was the most misused term in England during 1954 or a nearly unknown word from 2002 created for some obscure Letterboxd film with under 100 upvotes, and feature a complementary playlist that embodies each word.

The show starts with general greetings and an introduction of the word, including a reason for why it was chosen for that week and its historical/cultural context. If I have a personal story or ramble about the word that I find particularly funny or interesting, I will be sure to share it as well. Then, the music set for that week will play, with a carefully selected set of songs that fit the word's premise, feeling, or structural aesthetic. Each transition period between songs will be given a short explanation or event related the the song or word. In the end, there would be closing remarks with a hint of what the word for the following week would be!
