On Purpose
- Saturdays, 6:00pm–7:00pm
Time pauses right now for everyone else around you--but you are granted this extra pocket of time in this moment. For one hour. What are you doing? This is a question I have asked several people in the past several days with varying responses--rob a bank, lock in, simply nothing. Personally, I'm playing the piano in Woosley hall--it seems so magnificent in there. Questions like these that get us thinking about living with purpose is very important to me and probably you too. I want to take time in this show to unpack a new question each week, inviting listeners to (I'm delusionally hopeful) to call in. The show's weekly discussion will be followed by songs whose musicality or lyrics draw the audience to introspection and further contemplation on the offered question and their own responses. This show will also work to bring important philosophy--from Aristotle to Kant--into an understanding of how we do--and perhaps how we want to--live our lives. While delving into these questions, perhaps we can imagine that time outside this show pauses. For one hour on air. And this is what we are doing.
